What We Collect, and What We Do Not

Two Forms, and Nothing Else

There are two places on this site where you can give us anything. The contact form asks for a name, a ZIP code, an email address, an optional phone number, and whatever you want to say to us. The email list sign-up, which sits above the footer of each page, asks for the name of your church or group, an email address, your state and your ZIP code. Nothing else on any page asks you for anything: no account to create, and nothing that has to be filled in before a page will show you what is on it. Reading these pages hands us nothing about you.

The Only Things We Hold

What we hold is what you chose to send us. If you use the contact form, we then have your name, your email address, the ZIP code you gave, your phone number if you added one, and anything else you wrote. The ZIP code is there so we can tell whether a volunteer organization operates near you; it is used for nothing else.

The Email List

If you join the email list, what you enter goes from your browser straight to Mailchimp, the service that keeps the list and sends the emails. This website keeps no copy. We use the list to send an occasional note as elections come up, and the state and ZIP code tell us roughly where the churches on the list are so the notes can be about the right deadlines. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from the list. Mailchimp handles the addresses under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab), and we do not give the list to anyone else.

Writing to us through the contact form never puts you on the email list. You are on it only if you signed up for it yourself.

After You Write to Us

The contact form sends your message to our mailbox as an email. This website keeps no copy of it and has no database behind it. We read what arrives and we answer it. The message stays in the mailbox it came to, so the conversation you started can be picked up where it left off. If you would rather we delete what you sent, write and say so, and we will.

Cookies and Tracking

This site runs no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics, and it sets no cookies of its own. The one thing it stores in your browser is a note that you closed the banner at the top of the page, so that it stays closed. That note never leaves your browser, is never sent to us, and disappears when you clear your browsing data. Nothing from Mailchimp loads on these pages; your browser talks to Mailchimp only at the moment you submit the sign-up, and the confirmation page it then shows you is Mailchimp’s, with its own cookies.

The web host keeps the ordinary records any server keeps in order to deliver a page, and those records are not used to identify you or to follow you anywhere else. To keep automated spam off the contact form, the server also notes briefly that a message was sent from your connection. That note is a one-way scrambled value, it cannot be turned back into an address, and it expires within an hour. If any measurement is ever added to this site, this page will describe it.

Sites We Link To

Some pages link out to official election sites, such as vote.gov (opens in a new tab) and the Election Assistance Commission (opens in a new tab). Those sites are run by public bodies and set their own privacy terms. A link from us is not a connection between them and Faith Votes USA, and it is not an endorsement by them of anything here.

Changes to This Policy

This describes the site as it stands in September 2026: a contact form, an email list you can join, and no measurement. If anything else is added later, this page is updated to say so, and the update is written in the same plain terms as the rest of it. Questions about any of this go to the contact page.

Things We Will Never Do

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise hand over information about the people who write to us or join the list. No advertising network receives anything from this site. The email list is made up only of people who asked to be on it, and we will not use what you send us for anything other than answering you or sending the notes you signed up for.
